Christian Neckermann

Christian Neckermann founded Cogent Consulting in 2005. His passion and primary reason for building Cogent Consulting is to provide senior executives with a more robust and objective foundation for strategic decisions – fostering discipline in decision-making and organizational accountability that drives better business outcomes.

Christian Neckermann has been working with senior executives of top 20 global pharmaceutical companies as well as smaller, innovative players in the healthcare field for over 20 years to facilitate decisions that drive growth and profitability.

Behind Christian’s success is the recognition that most businesses realize only a fraction of their full potential because strategy development and in-market execution are poorly connected. By focusing on closer integration between planning and implementation, new insights can be generated that create a lasting competitive advantage.

Christian has helped numerous clients identify new growth opportunities and realign teams and resources to maximize ROI on commercial investments. By applying a data-driven and collaborative approach, he has generated organizational momentum where internal disagreements had stalled progress. Project work ranges from single product maximization strategies to broad portfolio analyses spanning multiple therapeutic areas and countries.

Teamwork is one of the most important aspects of Christian’s client engagements – creating a common fact base is the foundation for tapping into the creativity and expertise of the extended consultant/client team. Over time, this type of collaboration has consistently generated opportunities for top or bottom line double digit growth.

Christian’s international background and first-hand experience working in the USA, Europe, Latin America, Asia-Pacific, and the Middle East give him a truly global perspective on what it takes to implement business strategies in very different market environments, including both developed and developing markets. Prior to Cogent, he was Partner at the Peppers & Rogers Group leading their Health Care / Pharmaceutical practice. Before that, he was Vice President at Braun Consulting, leading their Customer Strategy practice. A year working to rebuild Informa’s HC consulting practice generated valuable lessons in integrating health care data / business intelligence services with more traditional consulting services.

Christian holds a Masters of Business Administration from INSEAD (Fontainebleau, France) and a B.A., magna cum laude, in Math and Economics from Brown University.
